Situated on the historic Monk Bridge viaduct, a Grade II listed structure, The Junction presents an fusion of high-quality homes and workspaces. In collaboration with FIKA Interiors, I set out to capture the unique sense-of-place that defines this remarkable area, resulting in an exquisite abstract artwork.
The centrepiece of the entrance, a captivating triptych wood relief, stands as a testament to the enduring significance of the viaduct. With meticulous attention to detail, each panel has been carefully sculpted to embody the essence of the viaduct and its illustrious heritage as a vital rail artery into Leeds.
Embarking on an immersive visual journey, the triptych showcases a harmonious blend of form and concept. Its elegance is further enhanced by a clear varnished, natural wood tray frame, radiating sophistication and refinement that seamlessly complements the distinctive interior spaces. As it takes its place at the entrance, the artwork commands attention, extending a warm welcome to residents and visitors, beckoning them to embrace the spirit of this extraordinary development.
